The Senate voted 60–40 late Monday night to approve a continuing resolution that would reopen the federal government and fund agencies through January 30, 2026. The bill now moves to the House, where members are expected to return to Washington later this week for a vote. While the measure includes key health program extensions and averts additional Medicare sequestration cuts, it does not extend the enhanced ACA premium tax credits—setting up a high-stakes December showdown over the future of those subsidies.
CMS has announced that Medicare Advantage plans may continue offering certain telehealth benefits despite the expiration of federal telehealth flexibilities on October 1. The agency is exercising temporary enforcement discretion through December 31, 2025—or until Congress acts—to ensure continuity of care and minimize enrollee confusion.
