Economic Advocacy

Reimbursement Hotline: 800/401-5911 or 415/882-3389 to reach reimbursement specialists to assist with reimbursement or coding problems, or report concerns and trends physicians are experiencing in reimbursement (or lack of) of their services.

Hassle Factor Log: Put your questions and/or concerns in writing, and fax to the reimbursement specialists at CMA. Information is collected to establish a Data Base and Trend Analysis to be able to quantify information about health plan hassles being experience throughout the State. Information provides evidence to proactively advocate on members behalf with payors, regulators and legislators.

Meetings with Carriers and Regulators: CMA meets with the Department of Corporations, Department of Managed Health Care, Department of Insurance and the Department of Health Services in addition to regularly held meetings with Medicare carriers, and major health plans to address physician concerns and the hassles encountered in the billing and collection process, in addition to general medical group insolvency issues.

Surveys:VCMA/CMA surveys members upon need to get up-to-date information on health plan and medical group solvency issues.
