CME Certification Program - Your concurrent state membership in CMA gives you free reporting and tracking of your CME hours, which verifies your participation in meeting the CME requirements for re-licensure to the Medical Board of California; and meets the requirements of AMA, most hospitals and many specialty societies. As a VCMA member, you also have free unlimited access to CME On-line through World Medical Leaders an internet CME provider, offers courses you can complete from the comfort of your own home (or wherever your computer is located).

Contract Evaluation & Negotiation Services - In this era of overwhelming managed care contracts, CMA's legal department can assist you in contracting at a fraction of the cost of an hourly attorney. CMA's Legal Counsel can be reached at (415) 882-5144.

Communications & Public Relations - VCMA conducts a variety of programs to keep members up-to-date on local activities and issues that affect your practice. VCMA also responds on local medicine's behalf to media inquiries and maintains a positive working relationship with local press. The community benefits from several health education programs and services offered by VCMA.

Public Service Committee - VCMA has established a committee to review and assist with complaints and inquiries that patients have concerning physician members of the VCMA. The committee attempts to resolve problems, misunderstandings, and communication difficulties. VCMA feels many potential malpractice cases are mediated at this level.

Practice Management/Issues Workshops - Several workshops and seminars are held for members Office Managers and staff throughout the year at various locations in Ventura County. VCMA also regularly holds General Membership meetings on localized issues that impact your practice. AMA and CMA discounts their workshops for members.
