GC H.I.T. is a trusted, vendor neutral service organization serving Physicians by facilitating adoption and use of Electronic Health Records. GC H.I.T. is a Local Extension Center (LEC) whose mission is to assist Priority Primary Care Providers to adopt and use Electronic Health Records and a source for technical assistance and support for those already using an EHR, and helping those with an EHR progress to demonstrate meaningful use. Our goal is to maximize Return on Investment (ROI) and to assist all in attaining meaningful use to qualify for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act payments of $44,000—$64,000 per provider beginning in 2011.
Historically many EHR implementations have had limited success and ROI. GC H.I.T. is a service designed to help Physicians and Allied Health Professionals succeed in their transition from a paper-based practice to one which uses an EHR by facilitating Education, Readiness and Workflow Assessment, Cost Analysis, Budget, and Coordination of Hardware and Software Vendors to maximize ROI and enable Physicians to begin receiving the federal incentive payments.
